Balcones Park is a higher-end, luxury homes neighborhood surrounded by greenbelts and privacy. The neighborhood is sandwiched between Camp Mabry to the east and Bright Leaf Preserve to the west. Bright Leaf Preserve is a 216 acre Nature Preserve once privately-owned by Georgia Lucas, whom acquired the land in 34 separate real estate transactions. Now passed away, the land is currently owned by the Austin Community Foundation, who carries out Georgia's wishes to share the gorgeous property's natural beauty with everyone.
