Pemberton Heights community is located just south of Bryker Woods, which features homes from the same time period, but with a smaller average size and less expensive. Edgemont and Pemberton Heights boundaries are just east of Mopac Blvd to Lamar Blvd. North of 24th St. and south of 27th St. It's an optimal location in Central Austin for getting to Downtown Austin and bypassing the majority of traffic. The majority of homes in Pemberton Heights were built from late 1920s through 1960. Pemberton Heights and Edgemont feature homes from luxury mansions to more modestly-sized charming homes. Most of the more modest home sizes are on the west side of Pemberton Heights neighborhood closer to Mopac Expressway, with the mansion estates more to the east. Construction is common in Edgemont and Pemberton Heights with remodeling and renovations of the older homes in the neighborhood or even complete tear down and rebuilding. Pemberton Heights also features several of the most architecturally historic homes in Austin including Splitrock, Pemberton Castle, Reed Estate, and the Bohn House.
Just five minutes from Pemberton Heights and Edgemont is one of the most popular golf spots in Austin, Lions Municipal Golf Course. Located downtown and serving players since 1934, the Lions Municipal Golf Course has hosted such notable golfers as Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Tom Kite, and Ben Crenshaw. The 6,001 yard, 18-hole course is lined with mature trees and the fairways and greens are well maintained. The Lions Municipal Golf Course hosts two tournaments a year.
