As a unique touch, the design for the park was conceptualized by Ray Elementary School third and fourth graders. Architects and engineers then developed plans to help bring the children's input to life. The park, which encompasses Hutto Lake, features a catch-and-release fishing lake, fishing dock, picnic tables, pavilion, bird-watching station, basketball courts, bathrooms, playground, and walking trail around the lake.
